Review Guide
Every game we review gets a score from 1 to 10, in half-point steps. Here is what each score means.
10 · Legendary
Legitimate masterpieces that deserve your time, money, and attention. If you don’t play these games, we just might judge you. Actually scratch that, we will.
9 – 9.5 · Outstanding
Games with an abundance of strengths that succeed in almost every way. Only held back by small issues that barely impact the overall experience.
8 – 8.5 · Great
Impressive games that are absolutely worth playing but have problems that keep them from realizing their full potential.
7 – 7.5 · Good
Games with much more to love than hate, though some significant issues can hinder players’ experiences overall.
6 – 6.5 · Decent
Solid experiences mired by flaws but still have something special to offer to players.
5 – 5.5 · Average
Just mid. The good and bad qualities come in equal measure, and we recommend looking into these games more to see if they’re worth it for you.
4 – 4.5 · Weak
Frustrating games that have some positive aspects but are tough to get through because of an abundance of weaknesses.
3 – 3.5 · Poor
Not much good to be found in these games, and we would recommend skipping them in most circumstances.
2 – 2.5 · Bad
A waste of time, money and effort on the player’s part. Borders on unplayable with few or any redeeming qualities to be found.
1 – 1.5 · Avoid
Straight up trash. Don’t play it, and don’t say we didn’t warn you.
